Baby Proofing Time

Well Jonathan is getting to the stage where he's able to crawl around, pull up on things and ultimately see what he can get into. We are definitely going to have to start baby proofing the house sooner rather than later.

It's been amazing watching him these past 7 months and just seeing him reach certain milestones whether it be rolling over, crawling, eating food, etc but also amazing seeing his personality come out and develop. We have been very fortunate to have such a happy baby (except when he's hungry but he comes by that honestly) and we love him more and more each and every day.

Here's a video of him crawling.

Great Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend! Casey Adcock and Liz Hubbuch were in town, so we took Friday off to spend time with Jonathan and to spend time with them. We ran errands on Friday and walked around downtown. Then, we met up with Casey, her family, her boyfriend, and Lindsay Manning at Champy's. Her boyfriend, Andrew, is wonderful. He's such a nice guy and he makes her so happy. Later that night, I made reservations for 15 of us to go to Alleia. We had a great time and a wonderful dinner. That is my favorite restaurant. Then we went to a new bar for a little while before we picked up Jonathan at my parents.

The next morning we woke up and got ready to go to Knoxville to watch the Vols get beat. We had a great time tailgating with friends and family, for that matter. I even asked someone if Christine and I could use their bathroom in their apartment since the Wendy's line was too long. Who does that? Obviously me after a few drinks. I wouldn't touch anything. I wouldn't dry my hands with the towel either. God only knows what was on it. Christine used it though. She was brave! Being at a game when it's so packed is NOT OKAY. I had a guy behind me that said, "I promise I'm not playing with your bottom, I'm just getting my water." That's how close we were. We felt like sardines. So not cool to me. I don't think Travis enjoyed it either. We finally moved and watch it from the tunnel and left after the 3rd quarter Hallelujah! We walked forever long to get to the car. I was exhausted.

Sunday, we rushed over to get Jonathan and hang out with my family. We went to Oktoberfest and then to eat at the Boat House. Jonathan took a face plant into Key Lime Pie and loved it! Only my dad would allow him to do such a thing. All in all, it was a fun weekend!

Siblings

God blessed me with a wonderful life. I have incredible parents (the best, actually), a phenomenal family, and incredible friends. The only thing I wasn't blessed with was siblings. I remember putting that on the top of my Christmas list when I was little. A few years ago I realized I was luckier than people that have true siblings. God blessed me with incredible friends and cousins that I have picked to be like my sisters and brothers. I love them as siblings and I couldn't ask for a better family.

With that said, God blessed me years and years ago with the LeGrand Family. With that family, I got an incredible little sister named Christine. When I would go to the beach with the LeGrands during the summer, I would much rather hang out in the room with the girls (Christine and her friend Allison) than with my best friend Justin. Sorry Justin! Christine and Allison cracked me up. We prank called people, we laughed, we joked around, and had a blast.

Our relationship has continued to grow throughout many years. We have become closer and closer and I couldn't ask for anything better. This weekend Christine came and stayed with us. She is an incredible photographer (christinelegrandphotographyblog.com), so she came and took our family pictures. It was such a beautiful day and we had a blast. Jonathan adores her and is such a little flirt with her. Yesterday, Travis and I didn't mean anything to Jonathan. He was all about his Aunt Christine. I can totally see why. She has the best personality out of anyone I know. She is funny, witty, has the kindest heart ever, and loves with all her heart. God blessed me with one incredible person and I know how special that truly is. Thanks for everything Christine. We miss you already.

Side note: This morning, I thanked Travis for being so wonderful this weekend and so wonderful to me and Christine. He said I know she's family so I didn't even think twice about it. It's so wonderful to know that Travis thinks of her as family too. Love that.

Cousins

Yesterday, we went over to Travis' Aunt and Uncle's (Bill and Karen) house. We went over there for Travis' grandfather, Papaw Charles', birthday lunch. Travis' cousin, Chris, and his wife Kelly, have a little boy named Hogan who turned one in May. Jonathan wanted to play with him and do everything he was doing. It was so funny. Hogan didn't know what to think. He didn't love that Jonathan was playing with his toys, but decided it was okay to share.
I loved that Jonathan has wonderful cousins in his life. Not only does he have Ayden and Kendall, he has Hogan as well. My cousins were so important to me growing up. We all did everything together and I truly believe that Jonathan will have the same relationship with his. Travis had Chris growing up and they did everything together, so to see Jonathan and Hogan together was wonderful since Chris and Travis were so close growing up.

We have incredible families that we love. Jonathan is one loved little boy.

Independence

Trying to eat bread by himself
Jonathan is 6 months old and is already thinking he can walk and do everything we can do. We brought the crib down a few weeks ago at both our house and my parents' house. He was standing up in the crib and we'd find him smiling when we walked into his room in the mornings. Too cute, but scary. He's not the immobile baby anymore. Sad, yet exciting to see him growing. It just feels like it's going by too quickly.
Trying to walk with me holding his hands
His crawls are hysterical. He realizes he can get to places much faster if he army crawls through the house. Cracks us up. He pulls up on everything and stands up. Then when he decides to let go, he falls and gets so mad. He's our independent little man.
Army crawling away
He loves his bouncer. He is so active and fun. He just cracks himself up when he's bouncing away. There is no better noise than the laughter of a baby. I love hearing him laugh. He's so fun right now and we are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby.

"Da-Da"

Jonathan is 6 months old and saying "Da-Da." Okay, okay, I know I should be thrilled that he's talking and I am. I just wish his first words were Ma-Ma. LOL! Heck, I was the one in labor and in pain with him. Just kidding!

There is nothing better than seeing Travis' face light up when Jonathan says, "Da-Da." You know that makes him the happiest person in the world to hear those words come out of his mouth. He truly deserves to hear it since he is the best dad I know.

We love you!
