Stella

On Monday, we found out that Stella would be in heaven with God and all of her family and friends up in Heaven. I can't imagine the pain that Megan, Chris, and their families are going through. Please everyone keep them in your prayers.

I have to say that during these past few days, Megan has shown me an insurmountable amount of wisdom, faith, love, etc. She is truly an inspiration of Faith in God and in love. Talking to her last night, not knowing what I can possibly say to make her better, I said, "This might sound cliche and doesn't help, but she is in a better place. I talked with Calla(my grandmother) and told her to give her lots of kisses for all of us." Megan says, "I know she's got lots of loving family surrounding her and one beautiful thing that gets me through is knowing she will always be in a beautiful place and never have to feel any pain, sadness, or suffering, just unconditional boundless love and beauty."

That right there is a true testament of faith in God. We can never forget that God has a plan for all of us and even if we don't understand it, He has something perfect in mind for us and definitely for Megan. They say God won't give you anything we can't handle, so I ask God to stop testing all of us for a while.

Please continue to pray for Stella, Megan, Chris, and both of their families.

Everyone please hold your families closer tonight and tell everyone you love just how much you love them.

It Just Keeps Getting Better With Time

Having Jonathan has been the greatest blessing of my life. We are blessed beyond words with an incredibly happy baby full of love and happiness. He blows us kisses constantly, he waves at us, smiles all the time, and laughs. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect baby boy.

This weekend was the first pretty weekend. We were in the 60s and 70s, so we took him to the park to enjoy his time outside. When we first put him down to walk around, he was a little startled by so many people, since all of Chattanooga came out to the parks too. LOL! He was a little clingy to me, but I loved it, since he's usually such a little independent baby. We finally got him to swing and he was perfect.

It was great! We saw old friends, teachers (Mrs. Claudia Iorio and her perfect kids), Debbie came with us one day, and we just had a great time Saturday and Sunday as a family. That's what this life is all about, being with your family and the people you love.

Jonathan's First Haircut

On January 26, 2011, Jonathan got his first haircut. I just can't believe that he is old enough to get a haircut. Well, the best part was that Auntie Meg was coming into town to work, so I booked an appointment with her. I couldn't imagine not including her in this first experience. It was so special for us to have her be the one to cut his hair for the first time.

We both got capes on and I held his head, because I was scared to death that he'd move his head and she'd cut his ear like my mom did to be. LOL! In one of the pictures you could tell I was nervous and it was because I could remember my mom taking a chunk of my ear off. Good thing it grew back. LOL!

Jonathan got a glimpse of Emily, a beautiful girl that works there. He was flirting and loved getting everyone's attention. It was a great day and we loved spending time with his Auntie Meg.
We Love you Auntie Meg. Thank you for cutting Jonathan's hair and for making it a special day.

Where has the Time Gone?

It seems like yesterday that P and I were blessed beyond our wildest dreams...we are quickly approaching J's 1st birthday in March and he's about to be 10 months old. Where has the past 9 months gone? I still remember the night we were heading to the hospital like it was yesterday...we were supposed to be there at 10:00 but we weren't going to miss American Idol. And now here we are 9+ months later...he's saying words, eating just like me and starting to walk around. Growing up I don't remember time flying by as quickly as it seems to now...not sure what that's all about but I'm guessing it's part of growing up.

The one good thing though is how amazing P and J have been, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect person to raise a family with and we've both been blessed with having a great son. I love you both!

New Year's Eve

This year, we took the low-key approach. We went to dinner with 5 other couples at the Meeting Place. We all brought bottles of wine and had a great meal hanging out. We went with Travis' best friends and their wives and Jennifer and Brian came as well. I love her! Travis has some incredible friends and now they are our friends. You always have a great time with them and look forward to the next time we are all together again.

Jacob Whitlow's Family Photo Session

Jacob Whitlow is a wonderful friend of mine that I work with. Last year, he took our family pictures and we loved them so much that we asked him to take ours again this year. We started doing this for Travis' parents for their Christmas gift. I hadn't posted the pictures, because my Mother-in-law looks at our blog and we didn't want to ruin the surprise. If any of you are interested, I can pass along his information any time. I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed having them taken.

What I'm thankful for from 2010

Happy New Year everyone! Everyone I know is busy telling what their resolutions are for 2011, but I wanted to take the time to share what I am most thankful for from 2010 and what I hope continues on into 2011.
I am so thankful for Jonathan Henry Schievelhud. He has brought so much joy and happiness into our lives. He's our miracle and never imagined enjoying being a mom as much as I do. I know Travis would agree with me when I say that Jonathan is the biggest blessing in our lives. I am thankful for a wonderful and helpful husband. I wouldn't have been able to get through 2010 without his love and support. I am extremely thankful to our families. We have wonderful parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc that have helped to mold who we are today and are very grateful for all of you. I am extremely grateful for my job. I work with wonderful and supportive people daily. There aren't many people that can say that they work with incredible people with incredible morals and values.
What I hope in 2011? I hope the love in our little family continues to grow and strengthen, so we raise Jonathan in a home where his parents are extremely in love and share everything. I want him to know that we are a family based on our faith and love. I pray that we have great health, wealth, and love.

Happy New Year!
Remember to count your blessings
