Jonathan's 1st Birthday Party
First, I want to thank Travis, my parents, my wonderful aunt, and Travis' parents, and Jennifer for making this party such a success. It was truly a team effort to get it ready. Friday, we all met over at the clubhouse and decorated. I had my dad putting up banners and putting his decorating mind to work. LOL! My aunt was helping give ideas left and right. Thank goodness! She wanted it perfect, so I simply told her to call the shots. I loved it! Travis and my dad put together the putt-putt and golf games. We all played them before we left. To make sure they worked properly, wink wink.
Saturday morning, I made the rest of the food I was going to make, we got Jonathan and ourselves ready, and headed over to the clubhouse. Jonathan knew something was going on. Everyone had beat us there. Debbie got there to clean and make sure it smelled great in there so she lit candles everywhere. Titi Laly, my aunt, surprised us with balloons. It looked incredible! My mom made incredible goodies. After everything was set-up, Travis and Phil went and picked up the BBQ that we had catered. Jennifer made delicious mac and cheese. Everything was wonderful. We put it all out there and people were coming and coming. I think we had 75-80 people including kids. We are so blessed with incredible family and friends. Jonathan had a blast! He played with all the kids, laughed and had a ball when we were singing "Happy Birthday," he loved his cake, etc. The only thing he didn't have the attention span for was to open the presents.
Thanks to everyone that took pictures for us too, especially Bill Hailey!
When we got home, Christine, helped us open gifts and write down what we got for Thank you notes. Jonathan was in bed trying to finally take a nap. Once he woke up, Travis got him and he walked in the room, looked at the stack of presents, stepped back and looked at Travis like what the heck is all of that, and then had the biggest smile on his face. I wish we would have gotten that on video. Jonathan loved it all! Thank you to all of you that came to make Jonathan's birthday so special.
