All of my friends, including myself, seem to have given up on our blogs!!!

I started to think about it today and realized that I haven't put anything on our blog in a really long time.  When I looked at all my friends' and family's blogs, I saw that they hadn't either.  I always enjoyed writing on my blog, because it was a way to share pictures and stories with people we didn't live close to.  I know Social Media helps us immensely with keeping up with everyone, but something about a blog makes it more personal, I guess.

Life has been a wild ride for us lately.  We've had our ups and downs.  We are excited to announce that we are expecting #2.  We find out next week what we are having.  My aunt, Titi Laly is flying in and is able to make it to the ultrasound and I couldn't be happier!  We are doing things a little different and we got this idea from our uber-creative friend, Lindsay Manning.  At the ultrasound, the tech is only going to tell my Sister-in-law, Ashley, what we are having and then she will reveal it to us Saturday at our annual Easter Egg Hunt we do for all the kids.  It will be an Easter Egg Hunt/Gender Reveal Party.  We can't wait to find out what our baby is.

Jonathan turned 3 on St. Patrick's Day.  I still can't believe he is 3 already.  It seems like yesterday that we brought him home as a newborn.  This makes us realize how important it is to take advantage of every moment in a baby's life, because they aren't babies anymore before you know it.  We had a Toy Story Themed Birthday Party.  He even had Buzz Lightyear underwear on.  So funny.  He had a blast with all of his friends and asks when his next party will be.

Thankful

I'm not a cheesy person, nor am I an extremely affectionate person (publicly), but my goodness, I love and adore my family.  Family, to me, comes first.  I think that my parents being together 33 years has made me the person that I am today.  Neither of my parents are extremely affectionate, so I know where I get it.  I grew up in a house where my parents held hands walking down the street, they kissed each other when my dad got home from work, there was a respect and admiration for each other, they joked around with each other, but they weren't incredibly mushy.  At least not in front of me.

Marriage is important to me and I'm only going to do this once, so I am thankful God chose such an incredible man for me.  We do everything together as a team.  From dinners, to bath time, to laundry, etc.  We both work, so we both do what it takes to have our house clean and our family happy.  Marriage and having a family is hard work, but I am so glad I am taking this journey of life with Travis.  Even on the day we got married, did I ever imagine him to be as good of a husband as he's been nor did I imagine him to be the best father I know.  When I look around me, most dads are going on tons of trips with their friends, playing golf, going out, etc.  Well, Travis would rather hang out with his son than do most of those things.  I admire that!  I love the fact he wants to hang out with Jonathan and play.  There is nothing that warms my heart more than to hear them say I love you to each other.  It's the sweetest thing.

I think sometimes we all lose sight of teamwork, love, respect, and how to be thankful.  I have been traveling a lot for work lately and it has been hard on me.  I try to thank Travis for holding down the fort while I am gone and be thankful that I have a husband who doesn't even complain that he has Jonathan all to himself.  Well, I am beyond thankful for him and for everything that he does for our family.  I love and adore him for being an amazing husband and an even better father.  Without him, my life would never be complete.

Jacob Whitlow, you truly are the best!

Jacob Whitlow made my Mother's Day weekend!  He gave us the pictures that he had taken the weekend before.  With all the emotional times we've been through, the last few weeks, we needed this evening of pictures to have fun as a family.  He makes us at ease, Jonathan loves him, and he lets me know when I look terrible, which I love!  Travis thought he looked like a model in these pictures.  Said he hit these out of the park.  LOL!  Gotta love his big head!  Here are some of the pictures he took.  If you haven't used him for family pictures, you really should give him a call.

I hear a train

Did you hear that?

We love this Child with all of our hearts
